Celebrating Sam's Birthday

I apologize for the delay.  I know some of you have been waiting to see our little man dig into his first cake.  Well...that didn't really happen.  After a little burning sensation from the candle wick, Sam was quite timid and completely uninterested in eating the source of his pain.  Poor guy.  (And, BAD mommy and daddy.)  Eventually, he did calm down and slowly explored the sweet taste.
Thank you, Gigi, for hosting Sam's party, and thank you ALL who traveled to celebrate with us.  It was so wonderful to have my family and Scott's family together again, as well as a few dear friends.  Sam is well loved.  We love your love for him.  It means so much!

The Friday before Sam's party (Sam's actual birthday), Scott helped mom clear the pine straw off her yard.  Sam helped too--he loves to be outside.
I sure do love my little man.

Sam is politely using his "please" sign here to beg for more goldfish.  Uncle Craig kindly obliged.
Who wouldn't get a little overwhelmed with this many eyes watching you and this many cameras flashing at one time???

The moment of truth...
..and the tears prove it.

Isn't this a precious birthday crown!  My sweet friend, Melissa Williams, made it for us. (Thanks, girl.  He did wear it for a little while.)

All clean...
