Our little miracle

Our little miracle, that's what you are,
born not long ago.
Being parents was new for us,
A joy we'd yet to know.

Your daddy and I prayed for you
before we knew your name.
Boy or girl, it did not matter,
we wanted you just the same.

God, however, knew your name
and every hair on your head.
Rather than fear for your precious life,
we learned to trust Him instead.

For me, a new love affair began
twelve months ago today.
Twas your big blue eyes and tiny toes
that my heart did give way.

Sleepless nights and restless days,
every moment worthwhile.
To watch you now, I stand amazed,
I melt with your four-tooth smile.

So many "firsts" have come and gone so fast,
Time flies like never before.
I am thankful for how you've continued to grow,
and look forward to so much more.

My sweet boy, you were so tiny--
a perfect fit in my hands.
Thirteen pounds and ten inches later,
now my wiggle worm, my little man.

You've taught us a lot this year
about God's forgiveness, love and grace.
May we do our best to teach you well
so that His goodness you taste.

Our little miracle, Samuel Scott,
is already turning one.
We celebrate your life today,
Happy Birthday, son!

Such a sweet poem. The pics you took of the Perdue Crew were awesome. Your man is precious - loved the video.
